Maitland is one of the oldest incorporated municipalities in Central Florida and is rich in history. The area was once called Fumecheliga (Musk Mellon Place) by the Seminole Indians before it was established as Fort Maitland in 1838 by the U.S. Army. Aside from it’s rich history, Maitland is a wonderful place to call home with a variety of communities spread through the abundant supply of lakes that help add to the city's charm. Although it’s a smaller city, residents have access to wonderful amenities like parks, museums, shopping, and fine dining just to name a few. Located just off I-4, Maitland is an attractive city for those needing a convenient commute. |
